Chronic Pain Mechanism Research

Welcome to the Chronic Pain Mechanism Research Website

Principal Investigator, Z. David Luo, MD, PhD research interests focuses on molecular mechanisms of chronic pain. By using multidisciplinary approaches, Dr. Luo and his team members are studying how chronic pain inducing conditions, including peripheral nerve injury, spinal cord injury, bone cancer, induce changes in gene expression in sensory pathways that lead to lowered thresholds for spinal neuron activation and pain perception.
